The Philosophy:
Just as you have chosen the person with whom to
share your life, so you deserve to sanctify you
relationship in a spiritual, religious and
meaningful wedding ceremony blessed by the rabbi.
Rabbi Forman is open to creating a unique service
just for you. He conducts a service that is
inclusive, elegant and personally significant to you
and to both of your families.
Whatever kind of simple or elaborate
wedding celebration you choose to have, the ceremony
will be the crucial pivotal element upon which all
else depends. Thus, Reform Judaism is concerned with
drawing the couple together in a mutually satisfying
spiritual quest. The process of embracing the
couple with love is called Teshuvah, a Biblical
model of turning toward a mutual, spiritually
fulfilling religious response within the broad and
universal tenets of modern Judaism, which will be
rooted in the objective approach of
reason and rationality through learning and
understanding, utilizing the basic core values and
ethical directions you learned in your family homes
and as you grew up. This is not the classical model
of conversion. It is not the convolution of
personality to accommodate to the desires of
another. Teshuvah is the free will choice and
decision on the part of two individuals to turn
toward a mutually satisfying, religiously spiritual
value system, together.
Rabbi Forman will be glad to answer
any questions you have, and upon request,
will offer references from Pastors, Priests,
Ministers and other Rabbis.
